Buster Brown Barlow, 64, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in the Smyth County Community Hospital. He was born in Washington County to the late Lord Emory and Nettie Mae Thomas Barlow and was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Owens and a brother, John Barlow. He had worked as a dairy farmer and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Nancy Barlow; his children, Sarah and Lacy Rogers and Roy and Carla Barlow, all of Damascus and Lora and Walter Barron, Jr. of Marion; three brothers, Eliuh Barlow and Eugene Barlow, both of Glade Spring and Ernest Barlow of Norfolk; four sisters, Minnie Faye Widner of Chilhowie, Dorothy Widner, Margie Thomas and Edna Thomas, all of Glade Spring; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Barlow was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a farmer.
He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Chapman of Glade Spring; five sisters, Carrie Owens, Dorothy Widener, Minnie Faye Widener, Margie Thomas, and Edna Thomas, all of Glade Spring; four brothers, Elihue Barlow of Glade Spring, Buster Barlow of Sugar Grove, Ernest Barlow of Norfolk, and Eugene Barlow of Damascus; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the graveside in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with the Rev. J.L. DeBord officiating.

Baker M. Thomas, age 62, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a foreman with W&L Construction Co., Chilhowie.
He was a member of Old Time Holiness Tabernacle, Glade Spring.
