12. Washington Columbus⁴ Neese (John³, John "Owldrick"² Nasse, Mathias Sr.¹ Nehs)⁽²⁴⁾ was born in Greene, TN, US December 24, 1816. Washington died May 7, 1878 in Hamilton, IA, US, at 61 years of age.

He married Leah Anderson January 1836. Leah was born in SC, US March 1, 1818. Leah died December 6, 1895 in Hamilton, IA, at 77 years of age.

Washington Columbus Neese and Leah Anderson had the following children:

65 i. Sarah Jane⁵ Neese was born in Owen, IN, US February 13, 1837. Sarah died June 26, 1858 at 21 years of age. She married James Bell.

66 ii. Rueben Neese was born in Owen, IN, US August 7, 1838. Rueben died 1865 in New York Harbor, NY, US, at 26 years of age.

+ 67 iii. Martin Van_Buren Neese was born May 20, 1840.

68 iv. Lavina Neese was born in Owen, IN, US February 11, 1842. She married Nicholas Whalen March 26, 1861.

69 v. Dyza Eliza Neese was born in Owen, IN, US January 16, 1844. Dyza died June 16, 1932 at 88 years of age. She married Andrew Jackson A November 3, 1861.

70 vi. Washington Christopher Neese was born in Owen, IN, US March 17, 1846. Washington died November 29, 1930 at 84 years of age. He married Mary Eliza Royst July 11, 1870.

71 vii. Byas Neese was born in Owen, IN, US April 9, 1847. He married Miranda Amelia July 2, 1871.

72 viii. Jasper Newton Neese was born in Owen, IN, US December 13, 1848.

73 ix. Elisha Houston Neese was born in Owen, IN, US January 25, 1851. Elisha died March 9, 1938 at 87 years of age. She married Mary Emma Whalen 1872.
