He married Hattie Rutledge in Friendship, Va, Us, May 29, 1887. Hattie was born in Damascus, Washington, Va, Us November 29, 1853. Hattie died 1929. Her body was interred in Rush Creek Primi, Washington, Va, Us.

Ricely Defriece and Hattie Rutledge had the following children:

7 i. John Walter³ Defriece⁽⁶⁾ was born October 1, 1888. John died APR 1890. His body was interred in Rush Creek Primi, Washington, Va, Us.

8 ii. Elizabeth Defriece was born in Friendship, , Va, Us November 27, 1889. She married Lilburn Lee Mink in Friendship, Va, Us, August 12, 1906. Lilburn was born in Fall Branch, Tn, Us October 6, 1877.
