Obituary
Ballard R. Thomas, age 66, of Glade Spring, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
Mr. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a member of the Abingdon Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Allen Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Millsap Thomas; two sons, Ike Thomas, Abingdon, and Johnny D. Thomas, Chilhowie; one daughter, Susan Doss, Glade Spring; three brothers, Fred Thomas, Rural Retreat, Ed Thomas, Glade Spring, Johnny Thomas, Saltville; three sisters, Joann Lloyd, Emory, Eunice Bott and Wanda Wilson, both of Glade Spring; three grandchildren, Jason Allen Thomas, George Tyler Doss, and Hunter Dean Thomas; three godchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted today, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mahlon Wyatt and Mr. Bill Haywood officiating. Burial will follow in the Rush Creek Cemetery.
Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon is in charge of the arrangements.
