Obituary
Clifford Paul Widener, age 70, of Glade Spring, died Thursday, April 16, 1998 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Faye Widener; four daughters, Mrs. David (Linda) Yarber, Glade Spring, Jody Hancock and Teresa Parris, both of Meadowview, and Sandra Summitt, Abingdon; three sons, Ronnie Clifford Widener and Walter Wayne Widener, both of Glade Spring, and Sammy Roger Widener, Chilhowie; three sisters, Helen Compton, Maryland, Maggie Thomas and Margie Stanley, both of Glade Spring; six brothers: John Widener, Willard Widener, Alford Widener, and Junior Widener, all of Glade Spring, Jim Widener, North Carolina, and Marvin Widener, High Point, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.L. DeBord officiating. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Johnson Funeral Home in Damascus was in charge of arrangements.

Willard E. Widener, age 68, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998 at his home in Glade Spring.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, a farmer and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Widener; five daughters, Tiny Johnson and Elsie Thomas, both of Glade Spring, Louise Owens and Lib Thomas, both of Damascus, and Geneva Wyatt, Meadowview; two sons, Junior Widener and Tim Widener, both of Damascus; three sisters, Maggie Thomas and Margie Stanley, both of Glade Spring, and Helen Compton, Maryland; five brothers, John Widener, Jim Widener, June Widener and Alfred Widener, all of Glade Spring, and Marvin Widener, North Carolina; 24 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.L. DeBord and the Rev. Kenneth Poston officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Glade Spring.
Johnson Funeral Home in Damascus was in charge of arrangements.
