Obituary
Grant William Widener, age 67, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999 at his home in Marion.
Mr. Widener was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dewey and Nell Widener; and three brothers, J.C., Timothy, and Robert Widener.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Barker Widener, Marion; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dale Norris, Marion; six sons and four daughters-in-law, William Grant Jr. and Nancy Widener, Cockeysville, Md., Dennis and Linda Widener, Parkton, Md., Samuel Widener, Saltville, Phillip and Marie Widener, Hyde Park, Mass., James and Natalie Widener and Mark Widener, all of Marion; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ernestine Sether and Charlotte Floyd, both of Gainesville, Fla., and Aline Alban, Anchorage, Alaska; five brothers, Dewey Widener, Pennsylvania, Francis Widener, Delaware, James Widener and Ernest Widener, both of Conowingo, Md., and Freddie Widener, New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. in the Barnett's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benny Frye and the Rev. Avery Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery.
Barnett's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
