He married Mary "Polly" Widener in Washington, VA, US, March 15, 1831. Mary was born in Washington, VA, US August 8, 1813. Mary(50) was the daughter of Jacob R Widener and Mary Rosenbaum. Mary died December 6, 1895 in Washington, VA, US, at 82 years of age. Her body was interred in Wright's Chapel, Washington, VA, US.

Edward "Edmond" Thomas and Mary "Polly" Widener had the following children:

+ 70 ii. Isabelle J Thomas was born July 8, 1835.

71 iii. Jane Thomas⁽⁵¹⁾ was born in VA, US about 1836. Jane died after 1850.

+ 73 v. John Campbell Thomas was born May 20, 1843.

+ 74 vi. Henry Clay Thomas was born about August 1845.
