He married Rebecca Rosenbalm in Washington, VA, US, 1848. Rebecca was born in Damascus, Washington, VA, US November 30, 1824. (Additional notes for Rebecca Rosenbalm(17)) Rebecca died September 19, 1898 at 73 years of age. Her body was interred in Zion Church, Washington, VA, US.

James Ramsey and Rebecca Rosenbalm had the following children:

22 iii. Thomas Jefferson Ramsey⁽²⁰⁾ was born in Damascus, Washington, VA, US September 18, 1855. Thomas died May 7, 1860 in Damascus, Washington, VA, US, at 4 years of age. His body was interred in Damascus, Washington, VA, US.
