9. Joseph L "Joe"⁴ Claman (Jacob Leander³, Jacob², Jonathan¹ Clayman)⁽²⁷⁾ was born in Washington, VA, US October 7, 1852. Joseph died October 19, 1925 at 73 years of age.

He married Cordelia "Delia" Curtis. Cordelia(28) is the daughter of Andrew J Curtis and Susan Catherine Morrell.

Joseph L "Joe" Claman and Cordelia "Delia" Curtis had the following children:

16 i. Charles L⁵ Claman⁽²⁹⁾ was born August 7, 1880.

17 ii. Lula May Claman⁽³⁰⁾ was born 1882. Lula died 1888 at 6 years of age.

18 iii. Susan Catherine "Callie" Claman⁽³¹⁾ was born April 9, 1885. Susan died January 15, 1926 at 40 years of age. She married N B Price. (Additional notes for N B Price(32))

19 iv. Nannie Claman⁽³³⁾ was born 1887. Nannie died 1887 at less than one year of age.

20 v. John Claman⁽³⁴⁾ was born 1888. John died 1888 at less than one year of age.

+ 21 vi. William A Claman was born December 9, 1891.
