He married Nancy Cunningham August 21, 1845. Nancy was born January 17, 1821. (Additional notes for Nancy Cunningham(7)) Nancy died June 1, 1907 at 86 years of age.

William Bott Sr. and Nancy Cunningham had the following children:

5 i. Margaret³ Bott⁽⁸⁾ was born July 1, 1846. Margaret died December 15, 1939 at 93 years of age.

+ 6 ii. John Bott was born July 20, 1848.

+ 7 iii. William Bott Jr. was born February 17, 1852.

8 iv. James A Bott⁽⁹⁾ was born February 20, 1854. James died October 15, 1855 at 1 years of age.

+ 9 v. George Washington Bott was born November 22, 1856.
