1. John¹ Balfour⁽¹⁾ was born in Scotland 1766. John died about 1810.

He married Sarah Cummings June 28, 1792. Sarah was born in Lancaster, VA, US March 15, 1770. (Additional notes for Sarah Cummings⁽²⁾) Sarah died January 24, 1860 at 89 years of age. Her body was interred in Sinking Spring Cemetery, Washington, VA, US.

John Balfour and Sarah Cummings had the following children:

2 i. Andrew² Balfour⁽³⁾.

3 ii. Isabella Balfour⁽⁴⁾. Isabella died before 1822.

+ 4 iii. Amelia "Milly" Balfour was born 1793.

+ 5 iv. Charles C Balfour was born 1799.
