He married Eleanor "Nellie" Lynch November 27, 1801. Eleanor was born in Ireland about 1785. Eleanor(39) was the daughter of Edward Lynch. Eleanor died November 30, 1853 at 68 years of age. Her body was interred in Old Shutters Cem.

John Andis and Eleanor "Nellie" Lynch had the following children:

40 v. Evaline Watkins Andis⁽⁴⁴⁾ was born in Washington, VA, US July 6, 1807. Evaline died April 24, 1862 in Hancock, IN, US, at 54 years of age.

41 vi. Alexander Andis⁽⁴⁵⁾ was born in Washington, VA, US December 24, 1809. Alexander died April 15, 1862 in Hancock, IN, US, at 52 years of age.

42 vii. John Andis Jr.⁽⁴⁶⁾ was born about 1818. John died April 12, 1862 at 43 years of age. His body was interred in National Cemeter, District, Columbia, US.

43 viii. Jane Andis⁽⁴⁷⁾ was born 1822. Jane died July 29, 1886 in Hancock, IN, US, at 64 years of age.

44 ix. Margaret C Andis⁽⁴⁸⁾ was born March 5, 1828. Margaret died October 10, 1914 in Edgar, IL, US, at 86 years of age.
