12. Joseph McDaniel⁶ Thomas Sr. (Sallie Althea⁵ McDaniel, Sallie Jane⁴ King, Sally Lacy³ VanLear, Sarah² Allison, John¹)⁽²⁵⁾ was born in VA, US December 16, 1877. Joseph died November 25, 1950 at 72 years of age.

He married Rosanna Melissa Lowry February 18, 1903. Rosanna was born February 14, 1883. Rosanna(26) was the daughter of John Franklin Lowry and Susan Rosannah Elizabeth Campbell. Rosanna died 1971 at 88 years of age.

Joseph McDaniel Thomas Sr. and Rosanna Melissa Lowry had the following children:

+ 18 i. Frank Lowry⁷ Thomas Sr. was born November 20, 1903.

19 ii. George VanLear Thomas⁽²⁷⁾ was born November 20, 1903. George died September 28, 1981 at 77 years of age. He married Frances P Jones September 11, 1941. (Additional notes for Frances P Jones(28))

+ 22 v. David Orestes Thomas was born February 15, 1911.

23 vi. Joseph McDaniel Thomas Jr.⁽³¹⁾ was born about 1911. Joseph died December 25, 1995 in Washington, VA, US, at 84 years of age. His body was interred in Sharon Cemetery. He married Ruth Groseclose August 8, 1946. (Additional notes for Ruth Groseclose(32))
